My 7 year old daughter has been training for months here at threshold, and i can surely say this has been an integral part of her growth. Not only is threshold teaching her about ju jitsu, its forming her character in terms of respect for elders, self defense, camaraderie with her peers, competitive spirit and most of all, discipline. The Gym is very clean and roomy enough, the instructors, Bill and Chris, are very professional and are excellent and patient with children. Highly recommended for kids and grownups alike.

I had initially been looking to enroll my son in a martial arts class. After having done some research into area facilities, I inquired online to TMA. Not long after I received a personal call from the owner and had a great discussion about the class to see if it was what we we were looking for. He invited us to attend a class prior to enrolling. Glad to say we've been attending for about 10-11 weeks now. Highly recommend and well structured training facility.

This is an amazing place to do the best workout!. You feel very comfortable when doing every workout and the instructors are there to help you achieve your goals. I just started and every class is different and well structured, the instructors are passionate and supportive and I got to met great people. At first I thought kickboxing is just technique, but the classes are actually a mix of self defense, discipline, develop strong cardio and improve focus. Great for kids, great for first timers, great for advanced levels.

I've been training here for over a year, kickboxing, about 3 times a week. I did martial arts as a kid so I wasn't really intimidated when I started. Even though I was more out of shape then I thought, I caught on after about a month. Everyone is super friendly and supportive no matter what skill level.

Aside from the fact that the instructors are great, funny, safety conscious, and professional, they are also great people to hit up for quick bits of information before, or after class, or during open mat. I learned here what are good foods to eat before class, what gear is best for me, how to stretch my hands to prevent strain or injury, etc. They really coach you.

What I am really enjoying now is that it's not the same workout as I first started. I got better, the instructors modified to push me, which I wanted. They also have a knack for finding little things to improve upon and making a class to target that.

There's been a good amount of students to train with. Everyone brings something different to the table so you can find different things to improve on.

Threshold is an amazing gym. My son does the kids BJJ program and Chris Trella is an insanely good teacher. He is very patient and uses positive reinforcement to get the best from his students. I am training BJJ myself with Bill and Ed and they are great. I'm looking forward to continuing on with my martial arts journey at Threshold.

Threshold Martial Arts is without a doubt the best school! My 2 kids are training BJJ and I am doing Kickboxing.
Every week my kids cannot contain their excitement to go to the classes and learn new skills. They love the place, the instructors, the techniques and the enthusiasm. Even my very artsy daughter gave up her ballet classes for Jiu-Jitsu at Threshold Martial Arts.
Coach Chris has a ton of patience and is wonderful with the kids. Professor Bill is so knowable, surprisingly sweet (looks so tough) and has the no-nonsense attitude that I love!
It is a tough, but fun and welcoming environment that provides solid martial arts education for the little ones and for the adults.
I personally adore this place and defiantly recommend it to anyone who feels the need to get good and effective workout on, learn a solid martial arts techniques, or simply release the inner beast.

Do I need any kickboxing experience?

No, we love teaching new members. There is no better way to gain respect from our community than someone who has the will to join our class without any experience. If you can take that first step, you have already proven to our group that you are a strong-minded individual. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Does the physical training include weights or machines?

Most of the training comes from the natural, isotonic, aerobic, anaerobic, and isometric exercises, although, some weight training may be recommended or used. These exercises help our members with losing weight and toning the whole body; our focus is for you to develop speed, flexibility, and force.

What should I wear or bring?

Sweats and a T-shirt, or yoga attire, work best. You’ll also want to bring a towel and a bottle of water. And of course bring the mental attitude that you’re going to kill this workout!

How often should I attend classes?

We understand how busy your life can be; we would love to see you at least once a week. We believe once a week will be a good start for you to build your overall endurance and capability to implement the basic kickboxing moves.

Once you have built the basic foundation of the Kickboxing moves, we encourage you to then increase the amount of frequency and intensity of your workouts. We want you to go at your own pace, but make sure to challenge yourself to see the best results.
